The one hill we die on
On June 19, 2024, CDK Global went dark. Fifteen thousand dealerships lost access to their own customer records, their own deal jackets, their own service history — for weeks. The data was theirs. The system holding it hostage was not. That outage is the inverse of every decision we make. Postgres-portable schema. No extraction fees. No vendor-managed lock-in. If Gladius ever disappears, the dealer walks out with their database, their leads, their cadence, and their AWAIS event log intact. The hill exists because the alternative has already been priced — and dealers paid the bill.
